He who finds a wife…

The Good Wife.

He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord.
Proverbs 18:22

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
Proverbs 31:10-11

An excellent wife is a crown to her husband, but she who shames him is like rottenness in his bones.
Proverbs 12:4

The pressure to be a good wife is real!! Well done to all the wonderful wives out there who are doing amazing things for their families and households. Your strength and diligence is out of this world! You really deserve the softest life! Even the Bible praises these strong wives and we know the verses by heart! But today I actually want to focus on husbands! How often are husbands praised and appreciated? How many bible verses of good husbands do we know by heart?

The Good Husband.

Her husband is known and respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
Proverbs 31:23

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,
Ephesians 5:25

If you find any mistakes on this post please forgive me. This blog is dedicated to my chief blog post editor and it’s a surprise so he can’t read and edit it for me before I post! Yes, my husband..let’s call him Professor X…well mainly because his name is Xeshelihle and many people can’t pronounce it, but also because he is an Xman! You know the superhero film series based on the fictional superhero team!? Yes, that one. My husband is my superhero. He is Professor X! Like Professor X from the Xmen, my husband is an amazing leader who puts the needs of others before his own. He is also very smart! He is a Clinical Microbiologist! So the name Professor X fits very well. (Side note: Apparently Professor Xavier’s character development was also inspired by Martin Luther King Jr! Interesting!)

It is important to praise and applaud husbands for their hard work. Too many times we celebrate wives and mothers and forget about husbands and fathers! Husbands and fathers have intense pressures and expectations from society and the mantle of being the head of the family is not light! The bible even instructs them to love their wives just like Christ loved the church and died for it! That’s not an easy job! So to the husbands, the unsung heroes who sweat daily to make ends meet for their families, I applaud you! Thank you for the sacrifices and for the perseverance! Thank you for dreaming big for your families and for being the strong pillar that holds the family together! Your dedication and drive to succeed does not go unnoticed! You are appreciated .🙏🏾

Today I would like to appreciate my husband in particular! I will try not to shed a tear as I write this *failing already!* Professor X is what I call a man amongst men! He is a leader, a giver, a man full of wisdom and compassion. He has a heart that loves far and beyond. I used to think I was friendly until I met him! He talks and laughs with everyone and anyone no matter their status, race, age, background, religion or beliefs. He jokes with almost EVERYONE he meets whether he knows them or not😂! He has taught me so much and everyday he encourages me to be the best version of myself! He is an amazing husband and father and for this I am incredibly grateful to the Lord! I am one lucky good wife!!!
