My heart bleeds as I write this blog for I too am a sleeping saint.
I write this in my bed, excited for my sleep. Excited to be in my warm cozy bed because I would rather be here than be up praying and spending time with God on this cold winter night.
We are the sleeping church. The church that is sleeping on God. Sleeping on the word, sleeping on our calling.
We prefer comfort and luxury. We prefer seeking God in our spare time.
We keep ourselves so busy through out the day only to say a sleepy prayer at night because we want God to answer our prayer requests and to keep us safe as we sleep.
We desire convenience.
We would rather be dreamers of the word than doers of the word!

In a world so dark and lost, we watch unbothered by the souls dying unsaved. What happened to radical evangelism? What happened to spreading the gospel at all costs? Are we too afraid to speak out and let our light shine? Are we so blind to the enemy’s tactics that are making us lazy and uninspired? Uncaring and unmoved. Instagram, tik tok, Netflix! Which show are you obsessed with these days?!😅
Instead of loving and nurturing we judge and condemn. We play hide and seek with sin, pushing souls desperate for God further away from Him.
In a world so dark and cold, where we are meant to be the fire blazing, we are the lukewarm tea (sips tea)….Afraid to stand out, to reach out and to love out loud!
If we are indeed the children of the most High God, then we should breathe out Christ. For Christ is in us, the Hope of Glory!

We are the sleeping saints, the sleeping church. Caught up in this thing called life which keeps us so busy and distracted that we lose the reason of our being. We were created for our Maker. But alas, we sleep. Promising ourselves that we will spend time with our Saviour tomorrow which turns into never.. We have grown familiar with our Lord. Forgive us Father!
God’s heart bleeds. He yearns for his children. He yearns to spend time with His babies who are sleeping like babies!!! (laugh & cry with me🥲)

The time to wake up is now. For the enemy does not slumber. Darkness lingers on. And until we wake up and take charge, the darkness threatens our very existence.
Rise up saints. Pick up your cross. Rest in the Lord, but don’t sleep on the job!!!
Goodnight saints.
Yours truly,
A sleeping saint who needs your prayers too!
