Trusting the Process by Vimbai Duduzile Elizabeth Shumba

When I think of trust the process I think of a lot of scriptures. The first one I think of is;

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28

In other words, trust the Father! Simple!

You have to trust that God is involved! You have to trust that He will cause EVERYTHING that you are going through to work together for good and that He is the one allowing the process. If God is not allowing the process, He will use it! Pastor Tom Deuschle from Celebration Church International used to say “it’s either God sent it or He will use it!”. So whatever you are going through it’s either it’s part of God’s process or God will turn it around and use it. Even Jesus himself, the Word made flesh, was led into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil (Matthew 4:1). The devil tempted Jesus and questioned his identity as the Son of God. Have you ever been in such a dry and barren place that you questioned if God was with you and if He still loved you? That was a process and Christ overcame it by standing on the Word of God and demonstrating his trust in his Father’s promises in spite of how the external environment looked. Thereafter, Jesus’ ministry began! The process matures you for what God has before you. Before there was a king David, there was a Goliath that had to be defeated.

He turns ashes into beauty!

Isaiah 61:3

God will take a bad situation or past experience and turn it into the most beautiful story because that is who He is. He is a Waymaker and a wonderful Father. He perfects everything that concerns you. You can trust Him to change any circumstance for your good!!

In Genesis 50:20, Joseph said that ‘what was meant for evil against him God meant for good’! Joseph also went through a difficult process where he was unfairly taken away from his family. But Hallelujah, the Lord’s GPS System redirected him back to His plan and purpose! When you lose your way, the Lord’s navigation system will recalculate and choose a route that will take you back to where you’re supposed to go! God put all the pieces together and the dream Joseph had as a young boy came to pass. No man can stop what God has planned for you! The process is not pleasant, (ask Job about it!) but once that season passes the blessing is more than you can ever expect!

Lastly, the great sacrifice. Jesus endured the cross for the joy that was set before him by going through the crucifixion process ( Hebrews 12:2) . In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus was in such agony that he prayed until his sweat became like drops of blood. He knew all that was going to happen to him but he still endured the process for he knew the price. For you to trust the process, you have to look at the end goal. We have to keep looking at the image of what is yet to come after you pass and endure the training.

Press towards the mark because of the joy set towards you. In trusting the Father through the process, you will win!

Yours truly,

Vimbai.

  1. This was encouraging to read.
    Trusting the process means trusting God especially since we know that he will always turn every situation for our good.
