Part 1

Hie friends and family! So this week I am starting a series called Trust The Process! I’m really excited about this topic because it’s constantly been on my mind. I’ve been singing, dreaming and talking about it everyday. It’s such an important discussion and it needs to be addressed continuously so that we remember to trust the process! So many times we want instant gratification or for our prayers to be answered immediately but then alas…years later nothing seems to be happening.
So what does it mean to trust the process? To kick off the series I’ll be sharing what my better half/blog post editor/happy place believes it means to trust the process! Give it up for Mr Xeshelihle Mhlanga!
What does it mean to trust the process?
“The X edition”
To me trusting the process is being able to get to a point where things are not right, where things are not going the way they should be, but trusting that God is still in control. It is trusting that if God said He has got plans to prosper me, regardless of my current situation, He still has plans to prosper me. Regardless of what is going on around me, being able to trust that things are still going to work out!
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.
Acts 16: 25-26
In Acts we find the story of Paul and Silas in prison. They were put in such a difficult situation. They were in prison for wrongful accusations and for actually doing the right thing. But they didn’t complain to God or blame Him for their situation. Instead they sang and praised God during the tribulation and this brought about their redemption. From this story we learn that trusting the process is when we find ourselves in a ‘prison’ and we still trust God and do what we are meant to be doing. If you were made to praise and worship you keep on praising and worshiping. If you were made to lead you start leading from your prison cell. Where we are today is not an indicator of where we are going to be tomorrow. God puts us where we need to be, even that bad place you are currently in! So to trust the process means that even though I cannot see the end, even though I cannot see where this is going, I must just trust that it is going in the right direction because I am doing the right thing and I am taking the right steps in life. Most of the time we don’t even know if we are or aren’t taking the rights steps in life. A lot of the time we do stuff because it feels like it might be right but we don’t know for sure. So that is where trusting the process comes in.

Trusting the process is having faith. It is believing before seeing. It is believing before receiving! So when we are trusting the process we are trusting that God is going to sort it out and that this is just a journey that needs to be taken for everything to be sorted out.
Think back to all the ‘prisons’ you have gone into and come out of in life! God has led you through all of them and your journey is still going. You are stronger and wiser because of them. You are who you are today because of the good times and the ‘prison’ times!
So trust the process because who you are is amazing and I can’t wait for you to find out who you are going to become through trusting the Father!
Yours truly,
X.

Such a timely message! Thank you, Mr Xeshelihle Mhlanga!
