Search me, God, and know my heart;
Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV)
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

If God was to put your name in that blank space and press the search button what would He find? If He searched your heart and mind thoroughly would He be pleased? Would He find faith, joy, peace and love or would He find fear, sin, depression and anxiety?
A pastor I enjoy listening to called Pastor Michael Todd of Transformation Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma declared at the beginning of the year that ‘this will be your best year ever if it is your best year spiritually’. Those words hit home fam and I decided to be more intentional about seeking God and growing spiritually. One verse that has been standing out for me is Psalm 139:23-24. The Message Bible version breaks it down really good. It says;
Investigate my life, O God,
find out everything about me;
Cross-examine and test me,
get a clear picture of what I’m about;
See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong—
then guide me on the road to eternal life.
In other words…check yourself!! Are we really in right standing with God? God wants to use us, but are our hearts and minds in the right place? What are we doing behind closed doors when no one else is watching? Are we the same person in private as we are in public? Well, God sees all. He sees our deepest secrets, thoughts and dreams. He knows us better than we know ourselves! There is no hiding from God and to be really honest with you, that kinda freaks me out! Do I even know what really is in my heart? Yikes!
It takes great honesty, humility, vulnerability and integrity to open ourselves up to God and to be willing to be tried by Him. I believe that it also takes courage to be willing to confess our short comings so that we may be delivered from them. I pray that God may search us and expose anything hindering our walk with Him. I pray that He cleanses our troubled thoughts and comforts our anxious hearts. May He look into our hearts and minds and find wholeness, hope, faith and peace that surpasses all understanding. If there be any wickedness, may He purify us and lead us in the way of that is right and pleasing to Him. The way that secures our eternal destiny with Him.
May He search us and find less of us and more of Him!!
Much Love and Be Blessed.
Vosh.
